It is funny how things happen in life. You are on a journey all is smooth and next thing you hit a cross road and the journey has taken a new path.
When this happened to me I was un sure what direction I should head. Then one day I was speaking to Adam Grandmaison about what companies we were into, just bullshiting and I was telling him how I was a fan of Shadow. Being that Adam is good friends with Ronnie b one thing lead to another and an opportunity to be apart of Shadow opened up.
I have always been a fan of Shadow, from the Art, the product and the people behind it. As I felt they were doing there own thing and only trying to represent there true selves. I really felt that this was an opportunity that I didn’t want to pass up.
A few days later Ronnie flew me down to hang at Shadow and to get a feel of what Shadow was like behind the scenes and to see how I would fit in. I quickly felt at home and knew I would have no problem representing all the riders and people involved. As I felt the potential for everything to go where it would need to go in this type of environment.
So the journey hit a cross road and the new path has begun I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity Ron and everyone involved with Shadow is sharing with me, shit is going to be good!! |

A FEW QUESTIONS TO CHASE FROM THE SHADOW CREW:
John Jennings:
Do you feel a sense of new inspiration since becoming apart of the Shadow crew and if so how do you see using this inspiration in the near future?
Double J spliff, you asked me a hard one, I thought we were boys!! haha, Shadow definitely is a new inspiration for me, it's a huge change and I am completely excited for what it will bring in the future, more friends, great times on road trips. Really all in all being on Shadow will allow me to be creative on and off my bike.
Ali Whitton:
What would you do with 1 million dollars?
You tell me, you're the one rolling around with a million dollars, haha, just kidding man. Honestly I would buy shit loads of music, albums, and Cheech and Chong cheesey one liner movies, ha ha. I guess when I really think about it I would buy a house and a big ass truck, and then give the rest to my future kid's so they don't grow up working to hard for nothing. Everything else that you can spend money on is a waste of time.
Karl Poynter:
The first time we met was on the "18 and under east coast road trip" that
was featured in the first Shook titled, "Scared to Look." That was approximately 6 years ago. Did you ever think your progression and involvement in BMX would of reached the point you're currently at now?
Karl, that was so long ago, it's crazy I didn't even realize that. In no way did I ever think BMX and myself would progress this far! I only hope it will go farther as I love and live BMX. Even if I'm not a "Pro" bike rider I can always see myself involved in BMX.
Eli Platt:
What do you make of the idea of a brand's image and, with regard to
Shadow, how does that relate to you?
A brand's image to me is definitely not the most important thing, personally I get down with Shadow's vibe, especially after getting to know Ron, and seeing how much he enjoys horror film's and political shit, I feel where Shadow comes from with it's art direction, and that is important to me. But the thing to remember is besides all of that, an image is only so deep, in the end you have a great group of people who are psyched on BMX and putting out solid products for us. I think any company who is doing that deserves respect, regardless of how you feel about their image. We all need to be aware of how lucky we are to have all these companies and riders involved and trying to keep BMX going, without them we don't have shit.
Ryan Sher:
How do you keep up with the 50,000 kids that have checked out your Pro
Q & A on The Come Up?
Ha ha, man honestly I don't mind it one bit! The kids on there are fucking awesome, always keeping me psyched and talking BMX with me, it's what I'm about. We all live BMX, so I have no problem being honest and treating them as a fellow rider, instead of a " Professional" rider speaking down to them.
Seth Kimbrough:
When you first started riding, did you ever think you would end up where you are today? And how has your
mind set changed from that time to now?
There is no way that I thought I would end up where I am now, it's so crazy how things happen.
To be honest my mind has not changed one bit as I'm still just a young kid psyched on bike riding
As much as being a pro BMXer look's like it's my job, it is not my job, this will always be what I want to be doing. Doesn't matter weather I'm a professional bike rider or not, I will always be a bike rider.
